This is before it was restored and opened to the public. We had arranged access but turned up and there was nobody there and great piles of sand barred access. A phone call was made (before the days of common mobiles) and it transpired that the Council had visited ahead of our visit, decided the site was far too dangerous and hastily piled sand across the access points. It would have been nice to have been told this before we turned up on site.
