Another of the stones erected in the late 19C on roads radiating out from Huddersfield to regulate the carriage charges. There were over 40 with 25 still in place. This 1½ mile stone is on the A629 outside No.380 Wakefield Road. The first stone was always at 1 Mile then each ½ mile after that.
