Class 777 electric multiple units are being introduced on Merseyrail replacing the class 507 and 508 trains built from 1978 to 1980. Some class 777's are fitted with batteries which allow operation off the electrified network from Kirkby. Multiple unit 777013 shown here in New Brighton has an overall Eurovision livery in celebration of the Eurovision song contest held in Liverpool in May 2023.
