A tomb for the family

This exquisite tomb was created by William Cavent of the Toomer family for his wife Margaret and himself. It has a canopy and was once brightly coloured. Cavent, former High Sheriff of Somerset and Dorset, died in 1463. The tomb was repositioned here after the church was extensively rebuilt in 1872-3.
