The Duddeston Viaduct, which never carried a train, crosses the Grand Union Canal in Digbeth. Its arch frames the Heath Mill Lane bridge beyond. On the viaduct, see Image Built in the mid 19th century as a ploy in a legal battle between two railway companies, it was never completed. This section is cut off at both ends and has turned into a wood in the sky, an unintended, nature reserve version of the 'streets in the sky' of modernist architects.
