The Category B listed church http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB12790 was replaced by the adjacent Kilbarchan West Parish Church when it opened in 1901. The older church then became the church hall. The congregation of West Parish Church joined with Kilbarchan East Parish Church in December 2015 and moved to the East Church. Since then both buildings have been unused. Planning permission was approved (January 2020) for the conversion of the building into a dwelling and the work seems to be well under way.
