An early 16th century house (right) and a gatehouse dated 1610 (centre), both Grade I Listed. House and gatehouse. The house probably early C16, gatehouse dated 1610. Timber-framed with brick panel infill and plain tiled roofs. The plaque under the gateway reads: THE ADJOINING TIMBER FRAMED GATEWAY CIRCA 1610 GAVE ENTRANCE TO EARLY 16TH CENTURY COUNCIL HOUSE RESIDENCE OF THE LORD PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL OF THE MARCHES OF WALES KING CHARLES THE FIRST STAYED HERE 1642, JAMES II IN 1667
