Looking up to the giant ionic portico from Lenton Road. The bronze memorial reads "This Nurses' Home was erected by public subscription as a Nottingham & Notts memorial of the noble self-sacrifice of those sailors, soldiers & nurses of this city and county who gave their lives in The Great War. Their name liveth for evermore". Now flats, known as Royal Standard House, the Grade II listed Memorial Nurses' Home was built in 1921-3.
