You used to be able to catch a bus from Stevenson Square Image In 2020 Image temporary traffic-free zones in the Northern Quarter were introduced from July 3, 2020 making part of Ducie Street a pedestrian and cycle-only zone allowing pedestrians to socially distance instead of gathering in groups at traffic lights. Buses that usually pass through Stevenson Square have been diverted along Lever Street to Great Ancoats Street and into Oldham Street. The art work on the former underground toilets at Stevenson Square is currently sponsored by Fred Aldous. The current artwork is by Marcus Method.
