Ferdinando Gorges purchased the estate at Eye in 1673, and seven years later in 1680, he was presented with a splendid country house that was grade I listed in June 1959. The fenestration was altered in the late C18, hence its Georgian appearance, and during the C20 when additions were carried out to the north side. Taken near the north porch at Eye parish church, and note the south porch which has been rebuilt since I first visited Eye in June 2018 Image
