One of several buildings on the site, and a rarity these days to find a school where (especially on a weekend) one can walk into the site without security fences. Surprisingly, in Pevsner's original 1959 volume on the West Riding, this 1954 school by H Bennett is the only building in the historic village (other than the parish church and remains of the castle) that gets a mention.
