On many routes radiating from the middle of Huddersfield are stones like this one with FROM HUDDERSFIELD on one face and TO HUDDERSFIELD on the other. This stone is on Meltham Road, B6108, about 200m south of the railway bridge. The defaced legend on the left face is FROM/(HUDDERSFIELD)/(1½)/MILES. On the right face -TO/(HUDDERSFIELD)/(1½)/MILES. This is the only 'To and From' stone on this route.
