Buildings on Castle Street. No 26, on the right, dates from c.1808 and is grade II listed - see https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1249109?section=official-list-entry. The railings in front are separately grade II listed - see https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1355863?section=official-list-entry - as are the two K6 telephone boxes - see https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1272844?section=official-list-entry. According to British History Online, No 28, in the centre, is a former hotel, built c.1850.
