This is Danestrete, located in Stevenage Town Centre, Danestrete is being dug up and resurfaced as the development to the left of the photo has started for new 20 storey flats which set to be completed by 2025. Danestrete was dug up due to the electrics that will be replaced to fit for the new flats, the site was formerly Matalan which was demolished in 2021. This stretch of road was the original route into Stevenage Town Centre by the Buses, hundreds of buses travelled back and forth on this road between 1958 and 2022 when the Bus Station was relocated to Lytton Way. In the photo above in the background to the left is the Stevenage Borough Council Offices also known as Daneshill House, to the right is The Plaza where The Old Post Office Pub is located and in the centre is Event Island which used to be the former Bus Station from 1958 to 2022.
