Rev David Ure (1749-1798) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Ure was a local minister and natural historian, best known for his classic work, The History of Rutherglen and East Kilbride, published in 1793, which included the first scientific descriptions of some fossil ostracods and rhizodont fish.
