These rather nondescript sheds are of much more interest than appears at first sight. They were in fact built in 1917 as hangars for early naval (RNAS) flying boat operations during World War I. They remained in RAF use until 1992 but are now occupied by a variety of businesses including boat maintenance. They remain substantially in original condition and are Listed Grade II.
