First came the Conservation Corps and in 1970 it assumed a new identity - BTCV British Trust for Conservation Volunteers. Personally involved with them for a time, they provided an unparalleled year round programme of day, weekend and week long tasks. One former County Manager, jokingly I'm (I am) sure, told me "BTCV British Trust for Conservation Vandals or Blunt Tools Crap Vans". Under their present identity of TCV they continue to carry out their valuable work. If you're (you are) thinking of joining then do it will be worthwhile. Time photo taken not available.
