Lime tree, Ash Green

This prominent tree stands by the footpath from Wheelwright Lane in Ash Green, at the point where it turns abruptly left to run alongside the embankment of the A444 dual carriageway, which passes behind the tree. It appears to be a common lime, Tilia x europaea, and it is listed as a notable tree by the Woodland Trust Ancient Tree Inventory https://ati.woodlandtrust.org.uk/tree-search/tree?treeid=235498&from=3523&v=2322606&ml=map&z=18&nwLat=52.45655485788289&nwLng=-1.5029937372947&seLat=52.45536170164503&seLng=-1.4962184773230813#/ (its location on their map is not very accurate though). The Inventory entry comments that local people campaigned to save the tree before the A444 was built - evidently successfully.
