Holy Trinity Church was built in 1866-68 to a design by Ewan Christian, a leading ecclesiastical architect of the 19th century. Further work was completed in 1882 and 1888 including the tower. Folkestone was developing rapidly as a holiday destination in Victorian times and the church was built large enough to serve an expanded summer congregation. It is grade II* listed.
