The near end of the building housed the County Court and Inland Revenue offices, built 1898, Listed Grade II. Beyond the break in the string course were the Magistrates Court and Police Station, built earlier in 1878-9, also Listed Grade II. Architect for both was Henry Littler, junior, county architect. Now converted to a multi-arts centre.
