An impressive example of architectural terracotta. Opened in 1903 as the Wigan and District Mining and Technical College, designed by Briggs and Wolstenholme of Blackburn and Liverpool with much detailing in Art Nouveau style, Listed Grade II . By 1990, as Wigan Technical College, it had outgrown these premises and was adapted to become the Town Hall, replacing equally outgrown buildings.
