Opened in 1811 at the instigation of the Duke of Devonshire to provide a larger parish church for the rapidly expanding spa town. Designed in Regency style by John White, with a portico at the east end. This was filled in in 1896 by the prominent Victorian church architect Sir Arthur Blomfield to create a chancel at the 'correct' end of the church. Listed Grade II*.
