As can be seen from the line of the roof, this Somerfields Supermarket was once the 'Gaiety' cinema. I hadn't realised until now, that it was not demolished, but just converted for another use. I spent many a happy hour in there as a boy. The more imposing 'Odeon' was just opposite. Now long gone, its site is the playing field for the school next door.
