Information sign detailing the history of Aberangell. This was once a busy village with most inhabitants employed by the slate quarry. Slate was transported via a tramway to the railway which ran along the valley floor. The railway was built by Sir Edmund Buckley and transported farm animals as well as slate. It also meant that villagers could have a day out to Aberystwyth which became an annual event!
