The gates to Frenchay C. of E. Primary school are firmly locked. It had educated the local children on this site since 1842, having occupied a previous site from 1829. It was built by public subscription and the local gentry who lived in the grand houses. The present building is a Grade II listed structure but was considered inadequate in its latter years. As the old Frenchay Hospital site was redeveloped some space was given over to a new school, which opened in 2022. The old school now awaits a different future.
