Tidal mudflats at Dunston Staiths

The mudflats in this small inlet to the east of Dunston Coal Staithes has been covered with a pattern of mats, presumably to stabilise the mud. It hasn't stopped the accumulation of rubbish in the top corner. The promenade above is in regular use as a cycle route.
