On the south side of the A62 on Manchester Road, Milnsbridge is one of the original 615 West Riding CC milestones set up in 1893/94 for the WRCC. The Wakefield to Austerlands route passed through Huddersfield and over the Pennines to the border with Lancashire on the outskirts of Oldham. This casting made at the Brayshaw & Booth foundry in Liversedge has OLDHAM/15½ MILES on the left face and HUDDERSFIELD/2 MILES on the right. The place names with more than 10 letters were always cast at an angle.
