Despite there being no 'official records' ... local rumour has it that, in the early 19th Century, a 'Pack of Rabid Hounds' were shot and buried in lime in this location. It looks just like a road junction to me, but ... 'Tis said that at Midnight when the Moon is low, the Hounds come out to bay, to find the men that fired the guns and put them all away! Brrrrrr ... it's just gone cold!
