On the afternoon of Sunday, May 14, 2023, fire crews attended a fire in a derelict building in Wellesley Road, Methil. Maxwell's (also known as 'Rick's') night club was once a popular venue in the area but had been empty and derelict for many years. The main part of the building was behind a row of commercial premises. The area has been fenced off. Two youths have been charged in connection with the blaze https://www.fifetoday.co.uk/news/fife-nightclub-fire-two-boys-charged-in-connection-with-blaze-which-gutted-building-4149132
