A stone-built pub/restaurant dating back to 1716, standing at the side of the A556, Chester Road, near the village of Sandiway. The image of a dog on the inn sign relates to Bluecap, a Cheshire foxhound that was famous for winning a race against the hounds of Hugo Meynell of the Quorn Hunt in 1763 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluecap_Memorial .
