Pentland Crescent on the seafront in Thurso, on Scotland's north coast. In the distance is Dunnet Head, the northernmost point on the British mainland. The black and gold fountain to the right of the image dates from around 1900. It was built as a memorial to a well-respected local doctor, and originally stood outside Thurso town hall. It was moved to the seafront in the 1950s. Its paintwork was restored in 2005.
