This is the Beaconsfield Walk entrance to the station; the other entrance is in Parsons Green Lane and is shown in an earlier Geograph. The station opened on 1st March 1880 when the District Railway extended its West Brompton branch southwards to what is now Putney Bridge. In 1889 the line was extended further south to Wimbledon by the London & South Western Railway. Parsons Green is today served by District Line trains from Wimbledon to both Edgware Road and Upminster.
