Some 20+ years ago several established London plane and sycamore trees on Dunkeld Road were felled and replaced by different species considered to be more suitable to this suburban residential road. Four of the replacement trees were Dawn Redwoods which have proved to be similarly unsuitable and are now causing significant damage to the road and footpath. And they would be expected to double in height and girth over the next 30 years. So these too are about to be felled. It is to be hoped that the replacement trees will indeed prove to be suitable.
