Planned engineering works saw buses replace trains on the Royston to Cambridge stretch of the line from King's Cross. The full eight-coach 19.09 from London had just arrived at Royston and passengers were quickly and efficiently shepherded to a fleet of buses waiting in the station car park. The first three were away by eight o'clock and back in Cambridge well before half past.
