This is the Shropshire Union Canal, looking north-west towards Brewood from below Barnhurst Bridge, No 2. The former accommodation bridge allowed Barnhurst Farm access to fields north of the canal. It now carries a public footpath. The Dovecotes estate is off to the left, occupying former Barnhurst Farm land. Off to the right are Pendeford Park and further housing estates where Wolverhampton Municipal Airport (closed 31 December 1970) used to be. Blackthorn blossom gleams in the sun. There is plenty more in the park.
