One of a terrace of houses (nos 2 - 10 inclusive) which were built in the latter 1830s. Most have had retail shops inserted at ground floor level in the meantime. Collectively they were Category B listed https://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB40895 and https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/200386947-10-greyfriars-garden-st-andrews-st-andrews#.ZC5y9HbMKUk in 1971.
