One of the four original lodges on Thibet Road, Durwood has cream render on the ground floor, hanging red clay tiles on the first floor, and a sloped pitched roof with dormer windows, in a symmetrical style. Due to an extension to the north, the house has lost its original symmetry. Despite this, it is the most original of the four lodges in style. The other lodges are Bushlands House, Diana Lodge and 26 Wellington Road.
