The wall has been named 'Sam's Dyke' in memory of Samuel Doak, 1920-2001. Sam Doak had a grocer's shop on Linlithgow's High Street. The wall was part of the area behind the property. The plaque was installed by local anglers, who use the wall as a reference point when out on the loch.
