The second yellow house has a blue plaque from the Kidwelly Civic Society, marking the house where John Charles Williams was born. He was the son of a Kidwelly tinplate worker who became a steel magnate in the USA. On his death, he left a bequest which enables Kidwelly people to undertake postgraduate study in the UK or overseas
