Large Victorian built villas in Bryansford Avenue

These were built on the outskirts of the then existing town. Since that time, and especially since the 1970s, large estates of bungalows and, more recently, a number of estates of two storey detached houses, have pushed Newcastle's landward boundary some one kilometre to the West.
