The main block here (no 23) is the former town police station, and was built in the early 1890s. The arched carriageway on the left separates it from a similar, but much smaller, building no 23a; together they were Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101254911-23-and-23a-swan-hill-shrewsbury#.Y_cpc3bP02w & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1254911 in 1972.
