Salem Baptist Chapel is located on Dickens Street at the junction with Eastfield Road. An independent Reformed Baptist church, it was built in 1978. The current building replaced an earlier chapel close to the present location dating from 1855 which was the subject of a compulsory purchase order issued by Peterborough Development Corporation (PDC) in 1973 when the area was undergoing extensive redevelopment.
