Large house on Fulford Road, built in 1876 by local seed merchant Isaac Poad (who that year bought the Fulford Grange estate from previous owner Ambrose Walker) as a wedding gift for one of his daughters. Alongside (on the left in this photo) is the former St Margaret's Rectory, built at the same time. In 1930 it was sold to a Lily Jackson who converted it into a hotel, the York Priory, later extended to include the Rectory. The hotel closed in September 2021 and the buildings were converted back to housing. In the background are The Lodge (see Image) and The Lighthorseman (see Image).
