Remains of carved stone post by the A41, in parish of TONG (BRIDGNORTH District), Newport Road; Tong Norton; by Bell PH, on forecourt, on West side of road. Erected by the Wolverhampton, Albrighton district turnpike trust in the 19th century. Damaged between 2011 and 2016, the former state can be seen on Image Inscription reads: Newport / 8 / Chester / (?) // Brewood / 6 / Litchfield / (?) // W.hampton / 10 / London / (?) : : (back) Shifnal / 3 Salop / (?)
