Steps up to the tower

St Michael and All Angels' church began life in the late thirteenth century in its visible form. Following some changes of patron the fabric was altered and rebuilt around the twelfth century, largely around the remaining Norman parts of the tower. Here the interior was enlarged with transepts and the chancel rebuilt. Note the steps added to an interior doorway to the tower.
