These stones has stood at the mouth of the wood for centuries. Only recently has the ground surrounding the stones been cleared. Not a stone circle but four stones on a circular platform (Bronze Age). The legend on site describes this as "One of only two four-posters in the country" (where is the other??) "and the only one to contain a burial cist".
