If you didn't know it was here, this would be an extraordinary find, though its splendour is entirely on the inside. Built to serve a 1930s housing estate, this imposing building of 1936-38 by award-winning architect Nugent Cachemaille-Day is not merely the only listed building in this part of Leeds, but one of very few Grade I listed 20th century churches in England (list entry 1255904).
