This notice is by the Geffrye Almshouse Chapel and has the following wording: Geffrye Almshouse Chapel The museum is set in fourteen historical almshouses, which were built in 1714 and provided free housing for elderly pensioners. This Anglican chapel was an important part of life for residents and attendance at the Chapel's Sunday ceremonies was compulsory. The Almshouse Trail
