Named after the Rushout family of Northwick Park in Gloucestershire who were the original owners of the land here, Rushout Avenue has a fine collection of 'metro-land' style semi-detached houses. They were built in the years after 1923 when the Metropolitan Line station opened. Note that although they are of similar architectural design, no two pairs of houses are identical - this 'individuality' was no doubt seen as a selling point by the developer.
