Death on the old railway line

The Strawberry Line used to connect Wells, Shepton Mallet and Frome to Cheddar - the home of fresh strawberries in the summer. With the line shut and converted into a major road, the old route runs parallel with it and is now a popular walking path. However, with the trees allowed to grow it has now become infected with Ash Dieback. A sign announces that there is a serious problem here and that damaged trees are threatening users. Work is due to start in early 2023 to remove the diseased.
